Rent payment is due on the first of the month by Zelle to info@swaydancechicago.com
One month notice is needed to cancel rented dates with no penalty. After rent is paid for the month, no changes or cancellations are accepted.
Time needed for set up for your class/rehearsal needs to be included in your rental time.
Lessee assumes liability for injury of any persons they invite to the space, including but not limited to: injury to students in the renter’s class/event, injury to performers or collaborators in rehearsal/event, injury to guests or audience members at a showing.
Sway Dance books event times back-to-back. If there is an event or class before your scheduled time, please remain in the waiting area until it is your turn in the studio. If you need time in the studio to prepare for your event, you must book the studio accordingly. Your rental time is counted from the time we unlock the door, to the time we lock up for closing. Set up, party and clean up are all included in your rental time/price. Hours can not be extended for any reason on your event date. Sway employees are instructed to unlock/lock the door at the time stated on this contract. Reserved time includes time needed for cleaning. If renter goes beyond reserved time, fees will be taken from deposit at 2X the hourly rental fee.
Sway Dance has 2 parking spots behind our building. Each spot can fit 2 cars. You may park one car per rented studio. If Sway employee is on site, they will use the second spot. If Sway employee is not on site, you are welcome to use both. The second parking spot is reserved for renters of second studio.
For any urgent issue that might compromise the structure or safety of the studio or the building, please call Teresa at 708-717-9119. . For accidents, health crises, criminal activities, or fire, call 911 first, then Teresa.
The person who is responsible for renting the studio will need a brief lesson in working the stereo systems and is the ONLY person allowed to touch it during your rental time. The stereo system has an auxiliary cord and Ipod cord to hook up your music. Especially when our neighbors are hosting classes, please keep music to appropriate levels.
No smoking or vaping anywhere inside the building. No incense or open flames of any sort.
No smoking or gathering is allowed in the back alley or parking lot. Please be respectful of our neighbors by keeping all voices down if outside the front of the building.
The lessee assumes responsibility for returning the studio to a good state before they leave. Please refer to the cleaning checklist found in the black rental binder when you arrive. All tasks must be complete before you leave the space. All lights, and electrical equipment must be turned off. If Sway Dance feels that the studio is left in poor condition you will be charged a cleaning fee of up to $200.
Lessee will assume full responsibility for any damage caused to any part of the entryway, studio, waiting room, bathroom, stereo equipment, floors, windows, mirrors, walls, ceilings, etc. sustained during the renter’s scheduled studio time. Lessee agrees to pay in full for repair or replacement of any item or structure damaged by the renters or by performers, collaborators, or guests invited to Sway Dance by the renter. Full payment for damage will be made within ONE MONTH of the damage or the damages will be turned over to the collection agency and a fee of 40% will be added to your total. Please note that the mirrors are the most expensive piece of property. Replacing one mirror will cost $550. Please be sure students do not lean on or touch the mirrors.
Please check the studios, waiting areas, bathrooms and kitchen areas for any of your participant’s belongings before you leave the building.
Renters are welcome to bring in furniture. However, all pieces must have felted or rubber feet. No metal or wood feet are allowed.
Decor is allowed, but may only be taped to dance studio walls. No tape or decor of any kind on the mirrors. If tape is used, all tape must be removed and areas cleaned with damp towel or disinfectant wipe. No confetti of any kind is allowed.
Children must be supervised at all times. No children are allowe din unsupervised areas.
No pets are allowed without special permission and deposit.
Participants/guests are not allowed to enter the space until renter who signed this contract has arrived.
If you have any issues with the studio, like maintenance or stereo problems, or issues with other instructors, please contact Teresa at info@swaydancechicago.com. We’d like to know about them before they escalate.
If a Sway employee is on site for your rental, they will be available to answer questions about where to find supplies. They are not responsible for set up, clean up, or technical support.
Sway Dance Chicago is subject to all regulations from the state of Illinois and city of Chicago. As rules change regarding Covid-19, Sway will make adjustments to meet those requirements. Renters are expected to follow all guidelines presented by the state, city and Sway Dance. If regulations are not followed, Sway Dance employees will ask guests, participants, hosts to exit the property. No refund will given in this circumstance.
Sway Dance reserves the right to change the above rental policies at any time to reflect the needs and concerns of the studio, community, and resident companies. Lessee will be informed of changes to rental policies. I have read and fully understand the terms of the rental information and agreement.
